1、计算智能与数据挖掘:主要研究进化计算、粒计算、神经计算、量子计算、深度学习、半监督学习、稀疏表示和凸优化等方法,并应用于无线网络、无人系统、图像处理、大数据和石油测井等领域。
2、无线通信与智能天线:主要研究MIMO、UWB、WSN、导航与定位等无线通信技术和无线网络建模与优化,以及智能天线中的智能化发射技术、接收技术和动态信道分配技术等。

1. Computational Intelligence and Data Mining: mainly focuses on Evolutionary Computing, Granular Computing, Neural Computing, Quantum Computing, Deep Learning, Semi-supervised Learning, Sparse Representation and Convex Optimization, and their Applications in Wireless Communications, Unmanned System, Image Processing, Big Data, Oil Logging and so on.
2. Wireless Communications and Smart Antenna: mainly focuses on OFDM, MIMO, UWB, WSN, Navigation and Positioning, Wireless Network Modeling and Optimization, and intelligent transmitting, intelligent receiving and dynamic channel allocation in Smart Antenna.

PhD/Master positions in every year starting from September are available at Prof. Xia's research group for major in Electronic Science & Technology (PhD) or in Communication and Information System (Master), HEBUT, China, with full scholarship support during the academic period. Prof. Xia is looking for the highly motivated and diligent international PhD/Master students with Msc/Bsc degree in EE or CS or related fields (such as computational mathematics, applied physics and industrial engineering) to conduct research on the above topics and exciting projects in his research group.
In addition, a postdoctoral fellow position in every year starting from anytime is available for international scholars who must be a PhD degree’s holder under the age of 40.
