School Introduction |
The school of Energy and Environment Engineering originated from the Mechanical Department established in 1958. The school currently has 114 faculty and staff, including 29 senior professional titles, 41 associate senior professional titles, 41 PhD supervisors, 81 master's supervisors, and 95% of the faculty hold a PhD degree. There are 3 national professional talents, 13 provincial and ministerial professional talents, and 58 "Yuanguang Scholars" within the university. The school offers 5 undergraduate majors: Energy and Power Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering, Environmental Protection Equipment Engineering, and Environmental Engineering (Sino-German Cooperation). Energy and Power Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering are national first-class majors. Environmental Protection Equipment Engineering is a new major launched in 2018, which is a major in urgent need in Hebei Province. Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering passed the professional assessment and certification of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development in 2016 and was reviewed as excellent in 2021. Environmental Engineering passed the international engineering education professional certification of the Ministry of Education in 2022. The school has the right to grant first-level doctoral degrees in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics. It has established 4 secondary doctoral degree authorization points, including Engineering Thermophysics, Thermal Energy Engineering, Chemical Process Machinery, and Energy and Environmental Engineering. Relying on the school, there is also a secondary doctoral degree authorization point for Heating, Gas Supply, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Engineering. |

The discipline of power engineering and engineering thermophysics with "emphasizing both engineering disciplines", focuses on the cutting-edge fields of clean and efficient development and utilization of energy to meet major strategic demands of the national and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, especially industrial structural adjustment for energy conservation and emission reduction. It gives full play to the advantages of cooperation platforms jointly established by the province, city and ministry to cultivate a team of discipline teachers with reasonable structure and vitality. The university builds a high-level platform for scientific and technological innovation and talent cultivation in the fields of energy and environment. It comprehensively improves the quality of talent cultivation and strengthens the ability of scientific and technological innovation. It has made breakthroughs in a number of common core technologies for energy and environmental industries. It provides strong technical support and intellectual support for the social and economic development of the region. |

Facing the major strategic demands in the national energy field and the urgent needs for energy transformation in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, combined with the industrial background of power engineering and engineering thermophysics disciplines and Hebei Polytechnic University's overall orientation of running schools, adhering to the fundamental principle of cultivating morality and people, it cultivates high-quality and high-level research talents with all-round development in morality, intellect and physique. They are able to undertake scientific research, engineering design and product development as well as educational and teaching work related to power engineering and engineering thermophysics disciplines. The goal is to cultivate research talents who have both moral integrity and professional competence to serve the country's energy development and transformation needs in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. |
Curriculum Plan |
The doctoral program is in principle scheduled to be completed in 0.5 academic years. Public politics is 18 credit hours (1 credit), foreign language is 20 credit hours (1 credit), and other courses are 16 credit hours (1 credit). Each professional basic course, professional core course, professional technology course, and professional literacy course shall not exceed 48 credit hours (3 credits). Doctoral courses are divided into degree courses, non-degree courses, and other training links. Degree courses include compulsory courses and core courses, and non-degree courses include subject elective courses and interdisciplinary elective courses. |
